PAYTEC PRESENTS THE NEW KEY PIT2
A new generation of PIT keys with innovative features and new functions also in a future perspective.
The replacement of electronic components that are difficult to find or even obsolete allows to guarantee continuity in supply to customers and to increase the degree of independence of Paytec from non-proprietary technologies.
Even more secure
In addition to a renewed aesthetic, PIT2 is designed to contain important safety innovations that make it practically ‘inclonable’.
On the one hand, a new signature control system between key and reader ensures that any replicas of existing key profiles are never accepted by the systems. On the other hand, a new automatic key lock mechanism has been implemented in the event of an attempted forcing of the PIN.
In increasingly advanced contexts, where hacking techniques become ever more subtle and sophisticated, these innovations radically raise the level of security for operators in the face of various types of cyber threats.
Compatible
PIT2 is fully compatible with all key readers of the CAIMAN families (including the cash&cashless systems Eagle/Four Plus and Premium), OPTO and OSCAR.
PIT2 keys are immediately ready for use in current key readers. To achieve full implementation of the new enhanced security measures, a firmware update will be released for the systems. We will send you the precise indications in a forthcoming Technical News.
To ensure the compatibility of GIODY validators with the new PIT2 keys, an adjustment may be required to be carried out at Paytec. Please contact us to verify together with our Technical Assistance the actual need and the best way to carry out this intervention.
Renewed colors, unchanged prices
The prices of the keys will not undergo any change with respect to what is indicated on Paytec’s Price List in force from 1 March 2022.
The minimum order quantity remains 100 pieces per color, or 20 pieces per color if you place the order on Paytec’s e-shop (thus also taking advantage of the additional 5% discount!)
The PIT2 keys come in a wide variety of eye-catching colors: red, blue, yellow, green, black, transparent and transparent orange.
Just like the previous ones, they are available as Type 1, Type 98 and Auto-programmable. They can be easily customized with your own logo.

Some practical tips
To simplify the management of your payment systems and get the most out of your locations
1.
If you have not already done so, register in the Reserved Area of Paytec’s website to have immediate access to the most recent management software and firmware versions of the systems.
2.
Take a census of your Paytec key systems. Identify obsolete readers (Giotto, Leonardo, Jedy…) to be used exclusively with PIT1 keys or possibly to be scrapped.
3.
If you still have PIT1 keys in stock, we suggest you keep them for the existing locations and use the PIT2 directly for new locations. This will help you when updating the systems firmware.
And what about the older systems?
If you still have key readers from families prior to the Oscar family (e.g. Giotto, Leonardo or Jedy readers), identify these locations and avoid introducing PIT2 keys. Contact us to receive a personalized scrapping proposal.
